Fuel U Nutrition Coaching

Fuel U is here to provide you with the expert coaching, personalization, and education you need to establish sustainable nutrition habits to be and feel your best. Whether training for an athletic event or simply wanting to learn more about nutrient balance and timing, our registered dietitians employ evidence-based strategies and programming to help you achieve your goals. Separating fact from fad, they meet you exactly where you are in your health and fitness journey.

Personalized Nutrition Programs

Fuel U is more than just a diet plan.
Over 12 weeks the Fuel U program includes one-on-one coaching with a SHIFT registered dietitian. Fuel U programs are personalized to YOUR unique health goals, needs, and history. Your Registered Dietitian will create a customized Fuel Plan that outlines personalized strategies and fueling examples to improve your approach to nutrition and empower you to fuel with purpose. Our registered dietitians are behavior change experts and work with you to establish specific goals and build realistic habits to achieve long-term health outcomes. While we have three different program offerings – Macro Coaching, Fueling Habits, and Sports Nutrition – your registered dietitian may combine elements of each program to better meet your individual needs.

Each program includes:

  • Pre- & Post- DEXA Scan
  • Initial Nutrition Assessment
  • Ongoing Fuel Plan Adjustments
  • Extensive Resources and Education
  • Weekly Data Review and Coaching
  • Monthly Coaching Calls
  • Post-Program Assessment

to Meet Your Needs

Research-Based, Habit-Focused

Macro Coaching

Macro Coaching is designed for clients who want to achieve body composition change and/or gain a detailed understanding of nutrient needs and balance. This program involves detailed macronutrient coaching using calorie and macronutrient tracking as a tool for accountability and support. Your Plan will take into consideration energy and macro- and micronutrient needs, nutrient timing, meal preparation, exercise fuel, supplementation, recovery, and hydration.

Fueling Habits

Fueling Habits is a program designed for clients who seek transformative health and lifestyle changes and who need support in sustainable habit change. Fueling Habits is ideal for those not interested in tracking every calorie consumed and is especially helpful for those who dine out frequently or travel regularly. We provide a convenient way for you to communicate your daily fuel and habits while also receiving weekly coaching from your RD.

Sports Nutrition

Sports Nutrition is designed for clients looking to optimize their athletic performance. This performance nutrition coaching program focuses on nutrient needs according to the training phase, fuel timing, hydration goals, supplement recommendations, and even fueling strategies for intra-competition nutrition. Whether you are a seasoned athlete training for your next marathon or a new gym-goer, your RD will help you fuel to reach your performance goals and get the most out of your training.

Individual Nutrition Consultations Tailored to Your Goals
Our registered dietitians offer single, one-hour sessions to answer your nutrition-related questions and to provide you with nutrition knowledge and approachable strategies designed with your goals and health history in mind. Add a body composition (DEXA) scan to your consultation to receive an in-depth analysis of your body’s makeup, identify risk factors, and inform data-driven nutrition recommendations.

Elements of Your Individual Nutrition Consultation:

  • Review of relevant past medical and nutrition-related history
  • Assessment of current fueling routine
  • Answers to your most pressing nutrition questions
  • Body composition analysis (if DEXA scan is added)
  • Sustainable and realistic fueling strategies, including, but not limited to:
    • Supplement and hydration recommendations
    • Macronutrient and calorie targets
    • Brand and recipe guidance
    • Exercise/Sports fueling advice
