Dr. Ari Levy is in the business of guiding people to live healthier and more meaningful lives. He believes medicine is both art and science – we use proactive approaches to help Members unlock their potential, reverse disease, and build health, all while leaning on science-based strategies that support the delivery of the highest caliber of clinical care. Dr. Levy has spent his career understanding the neuroscience of habit change and the hurdles to health transformation. He believes making changes to health is possible when we create specific plans of action, embed sustainable habits, and create the checks and balances of accountability to the commitments we make.
Dr. Levy is a visionary and innovator. He sees problems and then seeks to find sustainable solutions. As a doctor, coach, healer, and problem solver, Dr. Levy has led thousands of high performers and executives through life-changing transformations. He supports individuals and teams at both Fortune 500 companies and boutique firms alike.
Dr. Levy is a regular contributor to publications, such as Crain’s, Forbes, Becker’s Healthcare, Men’s Health, Chicago Magazine, and Barron’s, and is a frequent podcast guest on a variety of health and business-focused programs.
Prior to SHIFT, Dr. Levy redesigned the clinical practice of the University of Chicago’s Program for Personalized Health & Prevention and served as a team physician for the Chicago Blackhawks (hoisting Lord Stanley’s Cup three times!). He co-founded and built Engaged Health Solutions, a company that delivered custom health and well-being coaching, training, and education to coaches as well as broader employee populations.
Dr. Levy earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Dr. Levy loves running and being active, especially in fun-loving competition with his brothers. He lives in Chicago with his wife and two children.
Dr. Brian Hollett is a performance-minded, process-focused, and paradigm-challenging physician leader. As a second-generation physician, a former 1st Team NCAA Football All-Conference defensive back, and a Chief Resident at Presence Resurrection Medical Center, Dr. Hollett has had a lifelong drive to understand how to build human health and how to optimize human performance. Driven by his passion for caring for others, he brings intelligence, integrity, and creativity to his clinical practice each day. He believes that through small sustainable improvements in personal habits, we can make meaningful and measurable changes that improve our quality of life and extend our lifespans and healthspans.
Dr. Hollett continually seeks to empower individuals to take and maintain control of their health by working in close collaboration with Members, embracing the complexity of health in the modern world, and focusing first on what is simple. On a broader level, he is committed to innovative approaches toward solving healthcare’s challenges through controlling cost and optimizing access in order to build desirable systems of care for both patients and physicians. Dr. Hollett is a trusted advisor to passionate individuals and innovative corporations seeking to potentiate previously unrealized improvements in health preservation and healthspan optimization.
Dr. Hollett has been with SHIFT since 2018. Prior to joining SHIFT, he completed his Family Medicine Residency at Resurrection Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Hollett received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine and his M.B.A. from Indiana University – Kelley School of Business. Dr. Hollett also received NCAA Football accolades during his undergraduate years for his role as a defensive back at Wheaton College and scored amongst the nation’s top performers on the Family Medicine national board examinations.
Dr. Hollett lives in Lincolnshire with his pediatrician wife, Kirsten, and three children, Graham, Sloane, and Bree. They enjoy taking big family walks and staying connected at Park Community Church.
Dr. Jessica Benjamin is a compassionate and detail-oriented family physician who believes in the power of listening and collaboration to provide high-quality, individualized, and comprehensive healthcare. She builds trusting relationships with her patients, dedicating the extra time needed to get to know them on a deeply individual level in order to help them lead healthy and fulfilling lives. She does this by looking at the “whole picture,” breaking down obstacles and working toward small achievable goals to create a lasting impact.
Dr. Benjamin has a special interest in women’s health and the specific challenges and needs that women of all ages face. She is a certified menopause practitioner from The Menopause Society (formerly the North American Menopause Society (NAMS)). Dr. Benjamin strongly believes that mental and physical health are intertwined in a profound way and seeks to understand how they work in tandem within each unique individual.
Over the past decade, Dr. Benjamin has provided care to patients of all ages and backgrounds. Prior to SHIFT, she served as a Lead Physician at Advocate Medical Group in Wicker Park, helping to build the practice from inception. She has experience treating acute needs and providing primary care services at Lakeview Immediate Care. She has also served as a teacher and supervisor to Family Medicine residents at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago.
Board certified in Family Medicine, Dr. Benjamin earned her medical degree at the University of Florida, where she also earned her bachelor's degree (Go Gators!) and completed her Family Medicine Residency at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago.
Dr. Benjamin lives in North Center with her husband, three kids, and their dog. In her personal time, she is active in her kids’ lives and is dedicated to regular physical fitness. She loves exploring dog-friendly destinations, biking around town, and traveling with her family.
As a physical therapist at SHIFT, Avis diagnoses and treats musculoskeletal conditions through observation of movement patterns, hands-on manual therapy, and individualized prescription of exercises to restore normal mobility and muscle function. Avis is trained in functional dry needling, the Graston technique, and blood flow restriction (BFR) training, among other treatment methods.
Previously, Avis was a physical therapist treating patients at the Wabash and Kinzie Athletico location. She completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of Texas at Southwestern. Avis earned her Bachelor of Science in Applied Physiology and Enterprise with a minor in Psychology from Southern Methodist University. During her senior year at SMU, Avis completed an internship at Exos, a company that focuses on proactive health and performance for elite athletes. It was during her internship that she came to appreciate the value of how a tailored, focused, and comprehensive training and care program can significantly improve an athlete’s performance.
When she is not at SHIFT, you can find Avis at one of the many fitness studios around the city, walking the lakefront, or looking for the best burger spot in town.
Scott is a physical therapist who strives to provide a full-body, hands-on approach to rehabilitating and preventing injuries. Using various manual therapy techniques and exercise programming, Scott works to restore mobility, strength, and proper movement patterns in his patients. He understands the importance of learning about patients’ unique needs, which allows him to tailor his treatment on an individual level. He empowers his patients by helping them better understand their bodies. A life revolving around sports shaped his passion for physical activity and human movement. Over time, his competitive nature has shifted from baseball to golf.
Through training with the Titleist Performance Institute, he gained a deeper understanding of golf swing mechanics to help patients improve performance and decrease injury. Scott is also certified in dry needling, and his additional training includes the McKenzie Method, Blood Flow Restriction Training, and Spinal Manipulation.
Scott received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Wisconsin Madison and completed his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Midwestern University in Downers Grove.
Outside of SHIFT, you can find Scott spending time with family and friends, on the golf course, or cheering on his Wisconsin Badgers and Chicago sports teams.
As a Registered Dietitian at SHIFT, Lauren coaches members through goal-oriented, individualized nutrition strategies and aims to instill confidence in members to incorporate small, sustainable changes that lead to long-term outcomes. Lauren received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health from Miami University in Oxford, OH, where she competed as an NCAA Division I varsity cross country and track & field runner. She then received a Master of Science in Nutrition from Boston University and completed her Dietetic Internship at Boston Medical Center in Boston, MA. She maintains a Registered Dietitian (RD) credential and is a Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) in the state of Illinois.
Lauren values evidence-based strategies based on her clinical and research background, but also views nutrition counseling as a partnership and is excited to build a trusting relationship with Members at SHIFT and clients in the Fuel U program. In her free time, Lauren enjoys running, cooking, trying new restaurants, and traveling.
As a Registered Dietitian at SHIFT, Lauren engages with members to help them accomplish their nutrition and health goals in sustainable ways. With a passion for connecting with new people, Lauren values building trusting relationships in her practice. Having completed her Dietetic Internship at Rush University Medical Center, she is well-equipped to develop specialized fueling plans to address a range of health needs.
Lauren grew up on a farm in Wyoming and believes this experience gave her a unique appreciation for food in all its forms. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics at Brigham Young University, where she contributed to research projects in a variety of areas, from pediatric nutrition to gluten-free cupcake production. In search of new experiences and new places, Lauren moved to Chicago to complete a Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition at Rush University. She maintains a Registered Dietitian (RD) credential and is a Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) in the state of Illinois. In her free time, Lauren enjoys walking along the lakefront, finding Chicago's best delis, and being involved in her church community.
As a Registered Dietitian at SHIFT, Juhi is dedicated to fostering a balanced and nourishing approach to nutrition. Through personalized, evidence-based, and culturally appropriate guidance, Juhi strives to make nutrition an enjoyable and sustainable part of every Member’s life. She values creating a trusting relationship with Members and is passionate about incorporating intuitive eating principles in a weight-neutral and non-judgmental space. Juhi hopes to dismantle harmful diet culture beliefs and instead build a sense of liberation around food choices to empower Members to make informed, sustainable changes that lead to long-term health outcomes.
Juhi earned her Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Human Nutrition from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and completed her Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetic Internship at Boston University. She maintains a Registered Dietitian (RD) credential and is a Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) in the state of Illinois. In her free time, Juhi enjoys the emotional rollercoaster of cheering on her favorite Chicago sports teams, the great outdoors and spending time with her friends, family, and puppy.
Dan earned two bachelor’s degrees in Kinesiology and Molecular & Cellular Biology from the University of Illinois-Urbana/Champaign, where he also competed in varsity track & field and cross country. He continues to train post-collegiately and has competed in two Olympic Marathon Trials. Dan has worked in various roles in healthcare, ranging from worksite wellness to patient access to medical coding. He is passionate about helping others reach new heights in personal well-being and realizing their health and fitness goals.
Dan enjoys running, working out, and spending time with friends and family. In his free time, you can often find Dan running up and down the Chicago lakefront path or cheering on his favorite Chicago sports teams.
Megan received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi, Texas. She was an NCAA Division I volleyball player at TAMUCC and continues to maintain an active lifestyle. She later earned a Master of Science in Healthcare Services Administration from Regis University in Denver, CO. With a desire to provide high-quality care and better health outcomes, she is dedicated to improving the US healthcare system and being a positive influence on its growth.
In her free time, Megan competes regularly in sailing regattas in Texas, Colorado, and now, Chicago.
As a Clinical & Administrative Care Coordinator, Jessica has a passion for personal health advocacy and puts her enthusiastic, outgoing, and compassionate nature into all aspects of her patient care.
Jessica brings seven years of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant and Clinical Supervisor in family and internal medicine in both private practice and HMO settings. She studied kinesiology at Indiana University Bloomington and holds an associate degree in medical assisting.
Jessica loves to combine her hobbies of running and traveling. She has completed marathons as far away as Bordeaux, France and the Great Wall of China. In Chicago, you can find her running the Lakeshore Trail, soaking up the sun at Montrose Beach, or enjoying a brisk Bears tailgate with family.
As Manager of Member Services & Sales, Ali oversees a variety of administrative and membership sales efforts as well as supports a wide range of operational activities.
Ali graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in parks and recreation management with a concentration in therapeutic recreation. Prior to joining the SHIFT team, she spent four years at a Special Recreation Association working with and managing programs for people with disabilities in a community-based setting.
Ali has a passion for helping others improve their quality of life. In her free time, she loves spending time with family and friends, working out, traveling, hiking, attending concerts, and trying out new restaurants in the city.
As Sales and Client Relations Manager, Erin leads corporate sales as well as member onboarding and support efforts. She was most recently the Director of Operations and Marketing at Well-Fit Performance and has spent the last 13 years working in various roles in the health and fitness industry. Erin has a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism with a health specialization from Michigan State University. She is also a NASM-certified personal trainer.
Erin is passionate about exercise and believes that making healthy choices can be fun and rewarding. In her free time, you can find her riding her bike, exploring mountain peaks on skis, competing in triathlons, crafting up new protein ball recipes, or spending time with family and friends over wine.
As a Member Services & Sales Associate, Leah plays a key role in ensuring an exceptional experience for SHIFT’s Members while also managing a wide range of administrative activities.
Leah graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration. While at Clemson, she was captain of the NCAA Division I varsity volleyball team. Her passion for the sport led her to the University of South Carolina, where she earned a Master of Sport and Entertainment Management and competed on the varsity beach volleyball team. With a lifelong dedication to fitness and health, Leah is excited to contribute to SHIFT’s mission of providing high-quality healthcare experiences.
In her free time, you can find Leah exploring Chicago, spending time with family, reading, attending concerts, or playing on the volleyball court.
